Appealing Formal Determinations

If you can provide a specific reason why PBGC’s formal determination of your benefit is wrong, you may appeal the PBGC determination within 45 days.

Health Coverage Tax Credit (HCTC)

If you are receiving benefit payments from PBGC, you may be able to receive the Health Coverage Tax Credit (HCTC) to help cover a portion of the cost of your family's monthly health care premiums.

Qualified Domestic Relations Orders

All or part of a participant’s benefit may be assigned to one or more other people through domestic relations orders relating to child support, alimony payments, or marital property rights of a spouse, former spouse, child, or other dependent.
